Trees in pencil and charcoal

I did these two drawings of trees after a visit to the botanical gardens in Dublin recently. These drawings are of photos taken at the gardens. It was nice to put away the paints and get back to sketching with pencil and charcoal. It wasn’t a great day weather wise but definitely want to visit the gardens again on a good day and do some sketching on site. I’ve found trees hard to draw and paint in previous attempts but was happy enough with these two after I put some time and effort in.

Above: unknown tree species (to me!), charcoal.

  1. Very good Geraldine. I always enjoy seeing your art work. You certainly have a talent. I must get you to give me a basic lesson some time:)))
