I managed to get time to revisit my raven theme, using ink this time. I wanted to do a more finished painting and build on the sketches I did for my last post – Charcoal sketches of ravens. I created the background colour with an ink wash on watercolour paper and painted the tree and the raven over this using a mix of Winsor and Newton inks black India ink. I liked how this painting turned out but I’d like to do a similar painting of a raven in a tree but with more muted colours.
