I’m still doing my watercolours from France holidays but this is the last one! I painted the sky and the lake in this watercolour before then adding in the trees to the forefront. I liked the watercolour before the trees were added so I’ve included that image here too, although I think the trees do add to the painting.
Hi Geraldine, these watercolours are so good, specially the first one simple but effective, you have a gift for this medium. You asked in your previous post about my work, i,m painting alot and , attending life drawing and volunteering in art, unable to download at moment, need a new camera don,t know which to buy, willing to spend a bit any suggestions?what camera do you use? you have very good reproductions.

Hi James, sounds like you’re busy! I hope you manage to get a suitable camera soon, I’ll be looking forward to seeing what you’ve been working on. I actually just use my phone camera, they turn out ok for on screen but I don’t think the images would work for prints.

It’s nice to see your process (before and after trees).

I like both of them for different reasons. They have such different feelings. The long view is dreamy and the trees, with its close focus, made me think about walking among the trees and how that would feel. I enjoyed both of them.

Hi Claudia, thanks so much for your lovely comment! I’m delighted you liked both versions of the painting. Might have a go painting this one in acrylics on a larger canvas 🙂

I love the minimalist atmosphere of the first but your trees are very good too!
